Chinese
Our cluster is called Chinese. Our facilitator is Ms. Li. We learn about students' school day in China. We discuss the same and difference between our day and their day. We practice basic greeting and counting in Chinese. We also learn about Chinese New Year tradition and celebration." We watched Dragon Dance video. We colored a Chinese zodiac picture and played with bean bags. We read books and looked at the pictures for more details. For the cluster fair we will present a video of our activities and the Chinese zodiac pictures.
A is for Ayiti (Haiti)
A
is for Ayiti (Haiti) is the name of our cluster. Ms. Vertus is our facilitator. Students learned a little bit about the
Country of Haiti. The connection to
Haiti that students made is that Ms. Vertus is from Haiti. Students learned some French songs. French is one of two languages spoken in
Haiti. Haitian Creole is the second. We
have learned some short phrases in French and Haitian Creole. We have learned two songs in French: Bonjour,
Mes Amis (Hello, My Friends) and Frere Jacques (Are You Sleeping?). Both of these songs are sung to the tune of
some popular American songs that we know. We will share a video of students singing the
songs: Bonjour, Mes Amis (Hello, My Friends) and Frere Jacques (Are You
Sleeping?) at the cluster fair.
