Writing a Story and Flips and Folds Origami

Writing a Story

Writing a Story is our cluster and  Ms. Carney is our facilitator.  In our cluster students use characters, setting, problem and solution to create their own stories.  Kindergarten clusters meet just three times. We have listened to stories, told a group story, graphed our favorite kinds of books, and wrote one of our own sample stories.  Samples of student work will be displayed at the cluster fair.

Flips and Folds Origami
Our cluster is Flips and Folds Origami.  Our facilitators are Beth Selleck/ Todd Elihu. We are learning about the art of origami, origami artists, and exploring new ways to construct different animals and figures out of paper. Everything has been fun! People work together or independently to create dragons, jungle scenes, underwater creatures, holiday creations- all out of paper. We had a paper airplane making contest and took them outside to see whose would fly farthest. Students will show some of their work through origami dioramas. There will be some pieces of finished favorites on display.
